What could possibly scare your bamboo BamWood flooring?

As Halloween approaches, witches, vampires and goblins reappear in scary tales. While you'll soon be decorating your bamboo decking with pumpkins and your flooring and cladding will host webs carefully woven by spiders, reality can also take a darker turn. As if a ghost had slipped into your house or flat to haunt your bamboo installations. ootouch takes you through three spine-chilling scenarios — but will they manage to scare BamWood, the toughest of all bamboos?

The terror of bamboo flooring owners

October is marked by rapidly shortening days, the arrival of cold weather, falling leaves and the return of evenings spent snugly wrapped in a blanket. It is also a month marked by the return of Halloween, when young and old alike enjoy being scared while nibbling on sweets after going from house to house to collect them. While being scared can become a real pleasure when watching a good film, it can also become an authentic nightmare when fears play out in reality.

When new flooring is installed, it is entirely natural to want to keep it clean and, above all, to do everything possible to avoid leaving marks on it. If liquid is spilled, it can easily be cleaned, especially on ootouch flooring. But sometimes it is heavier objects that crash to the floor, and then the risk of marks increases considerably. Panic sets in — there's no way your brand-new flooring is already going to be damaged!

You surely already know this, but today bamboo is a material found in every room of the house. For a long time relegated solely to the bathroom, it has earned its place in other spaces, bringing with it a natural and cosy atmosphere. Many of you will no doubt have chosen to install it in your kitchen.

You can already picture yourself coming home to prepare a nice meal to enjoy with the family when... crash, clumsiness strikes and you drop the heavy pan you were holding. Panic grips you — has a mark appeared? Will your magnificent BamWood bamboo flooring forever bear the mark of your clumsiness? Fortunately, as you pick up your pan, you notice your flooring is still spotless. But what is this due to?

BamWood, an ultra-resistant flooring

Made from bamboo strips assembled under very high pressure, BamWood flooring offers a noble and elegant look that will appeal to most people. Its strength lies in its resistance, as BamWood achieves a much higher score than other wood species.

Did you think BamWood flooring could only withstand a dropped pan? Think again, it does even better! Indeed, to test its solidity, the flooring undergoes the Brinell hardness test, during which a 1 kg steel ball is dropped to calculate, based on the mark it leaves, the size of the indentation and thus the hardness of the material.

Does BamWood withstand all types of impacts?

Yes, alright, it's great to withstand a dropped pan and a steel ball (not every type of flooring can claim that, after all), but does BamWood flooring really withstand everything? At ootouch, we decided to test its hardness with several possible everyday scenarios.

Scenario number 1: heels

Women either love them or hate them, but some are obliged to wear them for various reasons. Heels are the nightmare of ladies' ankles, as well as of flooring! Whether stiletto, platform, block or kitten heels, heels can cause impacts on your floor and leave unsightly marks that are very hard to hide. Really? Not with BamWood flooring, which withstands the passage of high heels without any problem.

Scenario number 2: the vase

It's the weekend and you want to do a bit of cleaning at home. You grab your cloths, ready to make all the dust from the past few days disappear when, disaster, a sudden movement knocks over the vase that sat proudly on the furniture. The fragments scatter all over the living room, the fall was terrible and yet... your flooring remains in as good condition as a few minutes before. Relieved, all that's left to do is fetch the mop, taking care not to cut yourself. Thank you, BamWood.

Scenario number 3: the hammer

You've finally decided to add that nail to the wall so you can hang that magnificent family portrait that's been waiting for months in a corner of the bedroom, and then, bang, as you grab the hammer, it slips from your hands and ends up a metre lower on your magnificent flooring. The impact was terrible and the mark on your flooring must be impressive, right? Surprise, as you lift the hammer, not a single scratch has appeared on your beautiful flooring. Phew, relief, the work can continue!
